Generated Canonical Tag

How to use Canonical Tags?

  • 1. Enter the full, absolute URL that you want to set as the primary (canonical) version.
  • 2. Click the copy button to grab the generated <link> tag.
  • 3. Paste the tag into the <head> section of all pages that contain the same or very similar content.
  • 4. This ensures search engines attribute all ranking signals to your preferred URL.

Generate a canonical link tag that identifies the preferred URL for a page. Use it during migrations, filtering, pagination or duplicate-URL cleanup to create a preferred-URL signal. Canonical tags are hints rather than guaranteed directives, so keep internal linking, redirects and sitemap URLs consistent where possible.
